Node not listed as "exchange server administrator"
I have just installed a 4th CCR and all looks ok except in EMC Organization Configuration, the active node does not appear under the role "exchange server administrator" for scope "cluster4" it is however a member of the "Exchange Servers" group within "Microsoft Exchange Security Groups" when i run "Setup /NewProvisionedServer:node2 /ServerAdmin:" i see the message: --------------------------- Windows Setup --------------------------- Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- any idea how to get the node to appear in the "exchange server administrator" column? thanks

Running a permissions check i see the following error on an OU which only contains PCs: Permissions inheritance block on Organizational unit: Out of Band Management Controllers object Access control list (ACL) inheritance is blocked for the Organizational unit: Out of Band Management Controllers object in domain 'domain.com' (OU=Out of Band Management Controllers,DC=domain,DC=com). This may cause mail flow problems, recipient update service failures and other service outages. Use the Active Directory Users and Computers program to re-enable inheritance on this object.

Go to that location in Adsiedit (Domain Partition) or ADUC and check the Box inheritance block After that try again and post the result Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah

Hi You can read this article and check exchange cluster. Example: To provision a server and delegate an Exchange Server Administrator Setup.com /NewProvisionedServer:"ServerName" /ServerAdmin Contoso\User1. I don’t find your user and “node2” instead of “cluster4”Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Thanks Terence, yes I had missed off ".com" on my original command - so re-running it correctly gives me the following: C:\Documents and Settings\exchangeadmin>Setup.com /NewProvisionedServer:hostname Welcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unattended Setup Preparing Exchange Setup No server roles will be installed Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check Organization Checks ......................... COMPLETED Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server Provisioning a new server ......................... COMPLETED The Microsoft Exchange Server setup operation completed successfully. C:\Documents and Settings\exchangeadmin> However, the server still does not appear in Org Config. If I add the Server name to the command i see: C:\Documents and Settings\exchangeadmin>Setup.com /NewProvisionedServer:hostname /ServerAdmin:hostname Welcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unattended Setup Preparing Exchange Setup No server roles will be installed Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check Organization Checks ......................... COMPLETED Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server Provisioning a new server ......................... FAILED The user or group "hostname" was not found. Make sure that you have typed it correctly. The Exchange Server Setup operation did not complete. For more information, visit http://support.microsoft.com and enter the Error ID. Exchange Server setup encountered an error. Also if i list get-exchangeadministrator i can see the other servers listed then typing get-exchangeadministrator -identity "copy/paste server here" i see the following error: Get-ExchangeAdministrator : The user or group "xxx.xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx" was not found. Make sure that you have typed it correctly. At line:1 char:26 + get-exchangeadministrator <<<< "xxx.xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx" + CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (:) [Get-ExchangeAdministrator], ManagementObjectNotFoundException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : AE7D66A0,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.GetDelegate It seems that because the server is a computer (not a user or group) i am unable to list it/add it What is the effect of not seeing the server as serveradmin in the org config?shapi

For some reason the Server only had Read permission on the Cluster. After changing this to Full Control using ADSIedit, the server appeared in Organization Configuration. (thanks to Andrew Wharton for that solution) Because I previously ran "Setup.com /NewProvisionedServer:hostname /ServerAdmin:hostname" - the server had been added explicitly under the Servers CN in ADSIedit. I have deleted this Dont know why the permissions werent granted to this node but hope this solution helps others shapi
